In the late morning I took the Ropeway up the mountain to visit several shrines located on the mountain.

The Ropeway was a fun ride and it is broken into 2 parts.  The first part was a steep climb up in a smaller car (seating for up to 6) and the second part was in larger car with room for 15.

On top of the mountain, there were some spectacular views

I then hiked for a short distance up higher to the first shrine dedicated to lovers.
