Day 8 & 9 – Osaka and the Shopping Districts of Shinsaibashi-Suji and Dotonbori

While in Osaka, my hotel was located in the Shinsaibashi-Suji district.  This is a very bougie neighborhood.  The street has Rolex, Omega, Giorgi Armani and other stores.

Dontonburi which is right across from Shinsaibashi is more food oriented.

Kobe Beef Skewers – the scraps was ¥1500 and the premium was ¥5500.  The scraps was better than a filter mignon and the premium was best steak I ever had.

Shabu-Shabu

This is hotpot dish of thinly sliced meat and vegetables that are boiled in water and served with dipping sauces. The name comes from the sound made when the ingredients are stirred in the pot. I had it for lunch one day with Waygu Beef.

It was very good but I need to improve my chopstick skills as my hands got toasty trying to grab the veggies from the pot of boiling water.
