One thing that Nara is famous for is the Nara Deer in the park.  There were hundreds of them wandering around.

Tourists can buy crackers to feed the deer.

Gango-ji Temple

This is a nice temple with a decent museum where you can’t take photos unfortunately.

The next stop was a preserved merchant home in the Naramachi Historical District.

Kohfuku-ji Temple

I then visited another temple that is a world heritage site.  Unfortunately, the 5 storey pagoda was being repaired.

Japan is currently undertaking to excavate and restore the old Imperial palace in Nara.

I got to see the work done.
